About Mrs. Grant

Hello Kindergarten friends and families and welcome to our kindergarten class! I am excited to have this blog for you where we can share information about what we are doing in our classroom.

This is my tenth year teaching kindergarten at Fallsmead Elementary School. I love meeting all of my new kindergarten friends every year and sharing in the fun and adventures of learning. We will have a lot of fun throughout the year, and learn so much together!

I am a proud graduate of Penn State University (Go Lions!), where I graduated with a degree in elementary and kindergarten education.  I have also completed my masters degree in Educational Technology through the University of Maryland!  I love using technology in the classroom, and can’t wait to incorporate it in to more lessons throughout the year!

I am originally from the cold north of Michigan. Most of my family still lives up North, and I try to travel home as much as possible to visit all of them!

The two little people that you will no doubt hear stories about all year long are my favorite little men, Brooks & Reid.  They are the loves of my life and I am so blessed to be their mom. Brooks is 2.5 years old and FULL of energy! He loves Disney's Cars, swimming, and anything with wheels. Reid is 7 months old and as sweet as can be. He loves cuddles, jumping in his bouncer, and watching his crazy brother!
I can't wait to share all of our adventures with you throughout the year!

Outside of the classroom, I love to spend as much time at the beach enjoying a good book! In the fall, you will often find me watching football or going out to enjoy the games. Mr. Grant is a University of Maryland alum, so Brooks & Reid will be torn between 2 Big 10 teams this year!! I also love cooking and baking, shopping, and spending time with my friends. And as a family, we spend a lot of time taking long walks with our (very hyper) chocolate lab named Kuma (Bear in Japanese).

When it comes to teaching, I believe that every student has the capacity to learn. I set high expectations for my students, knowing that they will reach them when they know that I believe in them. We work hard in my classroom to learn and excel. But, with hard work, students need to have fun!! I try to incorporate hands on activities and fun games that encourage students to learn, while enjoying what they are doing.

I am excited to enjoy a wonderful year of fun and learning with you all!
